I began digital growth marketing and design at the tender age of 7, when I wrote, illustrated, and digitally self-published to a website I coded in HTML 2.0 “The Cave,” a 21 page double-spaced novella about the grand adventures of a daring silverback gorilla named Geoff. The year was 1996. Since then the internet has grown up a bit, and so have I (depending on who you ask).
Simply put, I help businesses grow online. I’ve helped startups, NPOs, and fine dining restaurants from Silicon Valley to Silicon Beach and Boston to Bangkok find their voice, understand their clients, and build lasting relationships.
During my career I have been privileged to support a wide-array of successful ventures across many industries as a digital growth marketing & design consultant, including Venture Capital Fund & Tech Startup Accelerator, Forward Accelerator, the TechStars Accelerator Startup RealtyMogul, Boston’s rising crowdfunding platform Splitzee.com, and Kauai’s rapidly growing Real Estate & Vacation Rentals company Oceanfront Sotheby’s International Realty.
Since graduating from The Claremont Colleges in 2013 I’ve consulted for dozens of SMBs from startups to NPOs, from Silicon Valley to Silicon Beach, and Boston to Bangkok–helping them to find their brand’s voice, woo investors, understand their clients, and build profitable and meaningful relationships.
I grew up during the computing boom of the 90’s and 2000’s, becoming digitally fluent with a growing love for technology and online entrepreneurship. In 2010 I took a year off from pursuing my degree at The Claremont Colleges to start a blog and travel throughout Southeast Asia, living in Thailand for three months, training in the national sport of Muay Thai Kickboxing and keeping an affiliate marketing website that became rapidly popular in the niche. This was the beginning of my professional journey to learn the best strategies and tactics of email marketing, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Management (SEM), affiliate marketing, content creation, web analytics, and bootstrap entrepreneurialism.
Back at The Claremont Colleges, I founded a student entrepreneurship club, designed a marketing & communications major called “Narrative Studies,” (with a social psychology, behavioral-neuro economics, and digital storytelling emphasis) and began a dedicated study of the art & science of all things Digital Marketing.
Post-graduation I found myself in Silicon Valley, where I cut my teeth as a Growth Strategist working for a tech-startup accelerator. There was a new job title floating around, “Growth Hacker.” The term represented a new school of thinking around the kind of skills that distinguished “new” marketers from traditional Mad Men type ones. The term describes what I can do for businesses looking to improve their digital marketing strategies & tactics; I seek to find creative, unconventional ways to acquire new customers for any kind of venture that appreciates stretching its budget for maximum ROI.
My craft is driving brand awareness, stimulating growth in sales & signups, and encouraging brand engagement through all major inbound and outbound digital marketing channels. What I do is not magic, and results are never guaranteed.
